As we enter the final sprint to the end of 2023, it is an exciting opportunity to reflect on the year that has been. Through redAcademy’s inaugural graduation seeing talented South African youth entering tech careers and paving the way for those to follow, we are excited to have opened a new pathway for them to make a direct impact on our clients, software development capacity; diversity; software project delivery and work ready tech team growth.
At the heart of redAcademy’s achievements this year is our leadership team’s passion and dedication towards empowering youth in South Africa’s tech industry. This vision has steered redAcademy toward success, serving as a beacon for aspiring tech professionals.
The result has been a series of nominations that underscore redAcademy’s commitment and innovation in the tech industry. Among them, redAcademy was proudly nominated as a finalist for BPESA’s Top Non-Technical Innovation and Top Women in GBS Leadership awards. Additionally, the nomination for Startup of the Year at 2023’s Africa Tech Festival Awards and for the Most Impactful Initiative at the 2023 Women in Tech Awards further solidified redAcademy’s success in fostering diversity and driving real-world change within the tech landscape.
We are also proud to announce that Jessica Hawkey, our MD, has been recognised as a winner of the recent InspiringFifty Africa 2023 awards, a prestigious initiative focused on identifying the top fifty women making significant strides in tech careers across the African continent.
As redAcademy continues to spearhead demand led skills training and youth empowerment, we look forward to the milestones that lie ahead for 2024.
We are eager to continue working with our dedicated team, our enthusiastic students and our supportive clients to further push the boundaries of what we can achieve together. We are optimistic about the future of tech in South Africa and are committed to nurturing talent, fostering inclusion, and driving innovation. 2024 will be a year of growth, transformation and continued commitment to our vision. We plan to expand our curriculum, reach more young individuals, and further strengthen our ties within the tech community. We anticipate launching new partnerships, introducing new courses, and celebrating more success stories of our students transitioning into rewarding tech careers.
